Mohawk Superfine

Mohawk Superfine

This tactile stock is the world’s standard for a premium uncoated paper. Mohawk Superfine arrived in the 1940s to meet the demands of a new generation of printers, commercial artists and advertisers. Among its early advocates was Alvin Eisenman, the founder of Yale’s legendary graduate school in graphic design. It is likely that Mohawk Superfine would have been in the toolkit of graduates like British graphic design hero Alan Fletcher. The paper has been constantly refined and today it is one of the highest quality, best-performing grades available. It is acid-free and of archival quality with great uniformity and consistency. Featured on page 163 of The Collection book.

We have a phrase here at the mill, and it goes, ‘treat it like Superfine. What that means, is that only the highest level of quality is allowed to go out the door with this product.
