Case Studies
A collaborative project between exciting makers and STORE STORE.
STORE is an association of artists, architects and designers which exists to facilitate the exchange of knowledge and skills between professional practitioners, students and the general public. Working in locations from London to Rotterdam, they enable access to art and design, ensuring that the next generation of creatives can better reflect the communities they work for and live in.
As part of their engagement programme, STORE run a weekly after-school club through their shop and educational space, STORE STORE. Here, young people are able to learn innovative making techniques, develop their own products and build portfolios in art, design and architecture.
The Makers Manual project is a collaboration between exciting makers and STORE STORE: a set of 20 manuals which encourage people to make objects from what is around them. The manuals are practical guides for both beginners and experts, and journeys into the designers’ processes.
Makers Manual Vol.1 is housed in a slipcase constructed from Gmund Action Electric Blood 430gsm, and Vol. 2, from Gmund Action Nuclear Acid 310gsm. Both feature Risograph-printed inner pages on Munken Design Lynx Smooth Natural White in 120gsm.
The Makers Manuals are designed by John Philip Sage, with inner pages printed by Hato Press & Friends in the Dungeon, and slipcases by Dot Studio.
